2008 China Missions July Highlights

China Team: Sis Vicky, Amy, Sue, Allen, Ariel, Freeman, Bro Leong, Sis Leong (Total: 8)

Sis Vicky led the team with sensitivity of the Holy Spirit. Emphasizing on what God has put in our hands for this trip. He has put..

Healing in our hands…
Prayed for Pas and Sis Sheh of Light & Love School (family that was burned), although no immediate results, we did notice and confirmed by Sis Sheh that God has been healing her since we prayed for her last Oct 2007. Signs of her healing included smoother complexion on face and other body parts, leather hands turned to softer hands. We are trusting in her complete healing

along with her son ! Please continue to pray for the family.

Prayed for healing Rev Ho (head of all churches in Wuhan) and comfort for the lost of her little one not too long ago.Prayed for healing after service at Thanksgiving Church in Wuhan.
Prayed for healing for all the kids that were there at the Agape Family House.
Prayer in our hands…
Prayed for Rev Ho’s husband to take the spiritual lead in the family while the wife is sick and for comfort and strength.

Prayed for various Government churches for growth, restoration (snow-Damaged church and Calvary helped to support in Jou San), expansion.

Prayed for UR Café and MS Christian Bookstore in Beijing and Langfang as a place that God will use to bring more people unto Himself.

Prayed for Hubei Province as our Hotel in Wuhan was just in front of the Provincial Government Building.

Prayed for 1st Christianity Graduate School with the 1st graduating class in Wuhan University.
Prayed for strength and anointing for Rev Wang (Hubei Province Church Chairman & wife Rev Guo (Senior Pastor of Thanksgiving Church in Wuhan), Amy even prophesized over Rev Guo !

Prayed for the new Hubei Christian Council President: Rev Zhu.

Prayed for new Vineyard Project in the country side where they will build a church and evangelize the surrounding villagers/farmers and invite them to come. It will also serve as a retreat and training center. Fruits and vegetables will be grown and the proceeds could go towards the Pastors retirement fund. We visited the first one that has been opened for about a year where fruits and vegetables and flourishing and a church building has just been built. Also, Ark School students will be going there for a month to do a short term missions work and evangelize to surrounding farmers/villagers.
Prayed for the new location of the Ark School in the countryside about 1 hour’s drive from where they are now. The land has been bought, and they are ready to draw out the plans to build. Ark School just celebrated their 10th Anniversary where about 1/3 of the graduates enter seminary and/or work as full time church workers. Evangelism in our hands…
Using Sermons, testimonies, “Everything” Skit, English Corners, University lectures, salvation color bracelets, tracts, and personal relationships, a total of 52 people made decisions for the Lord
29 at Thanksgiving Church Altar Call after Sis Vicky preached and our team gave testimonies. 15 University Students in Langfang after our “Everything” Skit followed by an altar call Others included:
our English Tour Guide, Bus Driver Waitresses/Waiters/Cook at UR Café, village mom, other Langfang University students, etc.,
The great thing is that all of the ones saved at the Thanksgiving church will be followed up by the discipleship program and the Langfang students that were saved will be followed up by the Bookstore/Café Manager and her Christian staff.

Other Highlights...
· Great to have Sis Vicky as our spiritual leader. She prepared us spiritually everyday and led us by example. Her sensitivity to the Holy Spirit prepared us really well.
· Great to see Amy stepping up as Leader of Logistics in Training, I am confident she is able and will do a good job on our next China Missions.
· Great to see Amy ministering with her parents. Her parents expressed they were proud of her and her growth over the years.
· Ariel's attitude, her willingness to try different things, her outgoing energetic and magnetic personality went way beyond our expectations. She is mature beyond her years. And at 16, she even initiated and pushed us to practice and encouraged us to do well in our play. Her Hula dancing really broke the ice for us and the audience. It was great to see her growth over the last 13 days.
· Great to see Allen’s heart…a University student whom he led to the Lord last October returned to see him. He put his love into action along with our team members by helping her with her upcoming Senior year’s tuition!
· Rev Guo invited us to bring High School Youths in early July 2009 to do a English Camp where we could totally use the Bible/Christianity as the text.
· Great to see the first Christianity Graduate School held at Wuhan University, the first of it’s kind in a government top notch University.
· Calvary Missions was able to financially support the Light and Love School & Calvary Missions was able to financially support 30 Seminary Students in Wuhan
· Calvary Missions was able to financially support the ML Bookstore and UR CafĂ© in Langfang where the funds were greatly needed. According to the owner and manager, our support was a sign from God to continue the work in Langfang. If our support didn’t come from us and other sources, they would probably close down the bookstore/cafĂ© this summer. It was a definite answer to prayer!
· Great to see the Agape House’s Bakery up and running with the older foster girls learning valuable life skills.
· Great to see Sue stepping up in taking the authority of the Lord to pray for the sick and ministering in the power of the Holy Spirit.
· Great to hear from Rev Guo to Sis Vicky that we lay people have more power and faith in prayer than the pastors she knows in China. All Glory be to God !God loves China and the Harvest is ready. Please pray to be a laborer in this exciting and open harvest. Please also continue to pray for China and all the things that Calvary is doing there.

2008 May Update in Vietnam

Hi Everyone!

Hope you are having a good week!

When we sent out our project list to everyone a couple of months back, we had an amazing response! This really encouraged us as we saw many needs met. With just a little, it can do so much here. WE have been able to place water systems in schools, clean water in villages and finance life saving operations, sponsor children, and more. Changing lives, changing destinies, that is what we are about. THERE IS STILL MUCH MORE TO BE DONE, there is still time to do something, and you can be apart of it.

It's almost the end of May which means only 4-5 weeks til end of FINANCIAL YEAR! Yes, tax time again.

If you need to spend some tax dollars and at the same want to transform a life, you can do both with our tax deductible projects.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO LOOK AT THE ATTACHED PROJECTS AVAILABLE. (please see "2008 May Vietnam Report" in the right column)
Thanks so much for all your support to make life better for so many in Vietnam and see these kids, these families, have the life that God desires them to have.

Love

Paul and Deb and the team here in Vietnam.

Angeline is Doing Well !

Dear Friends,

Keith has sent another Angeline update from Agape House... Monday afternoon we went to the Chinese hospital where Angeline is staying and took her out to be seen by a good friend of ours, Dr Feng, who is a American Chinese Doctor at a Western style hospital in Beijing. Dr Feng has been on holiday and just returned, otherwise we would have asked for her advise a long time ago. Dr. Feng has seen Angeline previously for this same problem and last time the doctor gave her some medicine that made the sore go away very quickly. After seeing Angeline this time, however, she said that this time the sore is much worse than before, however, it's healing very well and will take a little while to completely heal shut. Dr Feng prescribed some new medicine and advised another week of IVs to make sure the infection has gone. When we left Dr. Feng's office we faced yet another bill, but this time, with a western style hospital that is normally at least 10 times more expensive than the Chinese hospitals.

To the Glory of Him who created us, however, I paid the bill for the doctor, it was only 290 RMB, or about 36 USD! When I went to the pharmacy to pick up the medicine we needed, the lady working there knew me and leaned over the counter and said. "I'm going to give you a very good discount!" That bill came to less than 100 RMB about 12 dollars! Needless to say we had great favor with this part, of Angeline's treatment, but, before we could take Angeline to see Dr. Feng the Chinese hospital wanted to be paid, 9000 RMB! Yes, well over $1300 USD which brought the total so far to over 13000 RMB ($USD 1900). Because we could not pay them at that time, they demanded we bring her back until the Doctor would released her. Therefore, after seeing Dr. Feng we traveled all the way back across Beijing to the hospital and had to leave Angeline there again until we can talk with the doctor today and get her released. Angeline has been in the hospital now for 2 1/2 weeks and did not what us to take her back, She said, "I what to go home please! I wish all doctors were as nice as Dr. Feng." Anyhow the plan now is to go on Wednesday and bring her home, finish the IVs here at home, and start her on the medicine Dr. Feng prescribed for her. Please pr"y this works out, We will do whatever it takes to repair the problem, but we need solid wisdom on how to do this the most cost effective way. Attached is a picture of Angeline in the hospital.

Blessings,Keith and Cheryl and AFLH Staff.

Pastor Abraham & Sarah China Report

Dear Calvary Prayer Warriors,

The spring is here. May His mighty Spirit anoint you mightily in all you do for His glory!
We are grateful that the authorities has granted the approval for the Jammin ministry, NBA players ,to participate the World festival during Olympics on August 26. In our recent visit to Beijing, we preached in different churches and about 70 people came to the Lord. One newly built church at the universities area I visited in February, it grew from 700 to 6000 membership in less than one year, and mostly are young people.

During March 24 to April 4, we had a short term missions team to visit Shanghai, Fuzhou, Wuhan. It was wonderful experience for our team members! Leading 9 young people in 3 cities, listening to the comforting words from the Holy Spirit, and looking to the harvest field, we did rejoice to see over 140 came to the Lord( over 60 are college students), hundreds dedicate their lives to the Lord among them about 50 for the full time ministry. We love to see each team member rejoicing, loving in the Lord, and growing in spirit daily during the missions trip.

With our schedules packed from morning to evening, our spirits are high and cheerful. God’s presence was so powerfully manifesting in each of our gathering. Wherever we went, our words, prayers, songs and testimonies brought great encouragement to one another. In Fuzhou we visited a handicapped orphanage, we all were touched by the US couple who has sacrificially invested so much love to the 27 little ones. They have indeed blessed us with their mercy deeds and gentle spirit.

We traveled to several cities nearby preaching and teaching. We also went to pray in the various university campuses. In Bible college, while Sarah and I were sharing in the senior graduating class, others would share in the Professional School or in the training school. in the evening prayer meeting of the Bible college, I prayed for about 7 students who came forward for healings, and 4 students were touched by God receiving their healings including of a man with deformed spine problem and a student who had suffered with pains from a fall from tree top a few years ago, PTL!.

There are over 23 churches which were damaged by the late snow storms need us to help. We visited some areas and will try to raise $50,000 for them. Please pray for those desperate Chinese Christian, and please help us in raising the fund.

Good news! Sarah has just passed the test for ordination, Rev Tom Paino from Indiana district and our fellow missionary, Koichi Kitano will join us to lay hands on her on April 27 ordination service at the Tokyo Sunshine church. Our second son, Sam who has been our associate for two years and teaching English for years in Tokyo, on May 8 will be leaving for Portland for a special one year training to be an art designer for the nonprofit organization. Please pray for Sarah and pray for Sam(34), David, our first son, and his wife along with their 3 kids are doing well. Praise God!

Thank you very much for all your prayer and very kind support!

The hospital said she needs surgery badly but they have no room for her now and hope to be able to get her in later this week. The bacteria is eating away and her flesh and also causing a high fever, she is on an IV but needs to have the infected flesh removed ASAP. Please pray she will get a bed soon and also the needed surgery. Thank You for all your
